Reading Sign Mariappa

This lunchtime Watford defender Adrian Mariappa officially joined Reading signing a four-year-deal.

Mariappa had been sought after for some time now and had serious interest from both Wigan and Newcastle in the January window. After having a first bid rejected around a month ago Reading have finally landed their man, although the exact figure is not known as yet.

Mariappa rose through Watford's academy and became a first team regular and fans favourite winning the fans player of the season last term.

I'm sure we speak on behalf of all Watford fans who hope Aidy has a successful time at the Royals not least because no doubt we will be due an additional payment should they stay up this season!
