'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Deeney future remains undecided

Chief Executive Scott Duxbury has said that the club are still trying to gather the full facts following Troy Deeney's imprisonment, before making a decision on the striker's future.

The future of Deeney, who was imprisoned for 10 months on June 26, remains very much up in the air following the change of ownership shortly after his sentencing.

New Chief Executive Duxbury spoke on the issue for the first time today since an initial statement was released immediately after the sentence was handed down.

Speaking to The Watford Observer, Duxbury said:

We are talking to his people and talking to him. We need to get all the facts and see what his position is.

'I have not seen an apology yet or whether he is remorseful and we need to get more information from him.'

The former West Ham CEO continued:

'As a club we want to do the right thing but for now we just don't have enough information.

'We are in dialogue with him and once we have the full picture then we will make a decision on what is best for Watford Football Club,' concluded Duxbury.
