Red & Yellow Lion handed to Bassini, for now

Former Hornet's owner Laurence Bassini will be handed the Red & Yellow Lion as part of the Pozzo family's takeover, it has been confirmed.

However, the former Hornet's owner will look to lease the pub back to the football club according to The Watford Observer

Bassini's spokesperson said of the deal:

"What we are hoping to do is lease the pub to somebody who will run it for the benefit of the supporters.

"We have interest from someone who is a Watford fan and we plan to lease the pub to him at a huge discount, so it continues to be a place for Watford supporters.

"The pub was given to Laurence as part of the takeover because I do not think the new owners were interested in running the pub.'

I dare say he won't be seen any where near the pub himself! Won't be drinking in there myself as I wouldn't want to give that clown any money indirectly or directly.

Agreed. Will wait until it's back in the hands of a true 'Orn/the club.
