'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ex-Hornet Gilmartin joins Plymouth

Former Watford goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin has today signed a two-year contract at Plymouth Argyle.

The 23 year-old former Hornet's stopper was free at the end of last month as his contract expired.

A Ireland U19 & U21 international, Gilmartin signed for the 'Orns in 2010 for a nominal fee following the expiry of his Walsall contract.

However the form of Scott Loach and his own short-comings prevented the enormous Dubliner from ever making a real impact at the Vic'.

Gilmartin will now compete with former Barnet & Queens Park Ranger's goalkeeper, Jake Cole, for the number one jersey.

All the best from all at VitalWatford, Rene!
