Pozzo: 'Zola involved in the project'

Prospective Watford owner Giampaolo Pozzo has given his clearest indication yet that Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola will be involved in the club.

The Udinese and Granada owner told Gazzetta Dello Sport:

'There are contacts with Watford, so we'll see.

'Gianfranco Zola enters in the project, but it's too early to talk about it.'

Zola has been heavily linked with a move to the Vicarage Road dugout in place of Sean Dyche and does at least come with managerial pedigree.

The Italian forward presided over 80 games during a two-year spell at the Boleyn Ground, winning 23 of those games before being sacked in May 2010 by David's Gold and Sullivan.

I think Zola could become a Watford legend as well as a Chelsea one...

1881 you really are a prize****! Zohas was a great footballer, has failed as a manager. what makes you think he would be any better than Dyche? Do you not recall the great job Vialli done? You had to suck a large one in relation to your comments about Dyche... But you still manage to type utter crap.

Zola did well to start with at West Ham but was unable to sustain. The general consensus is that he's too nice. As far as I'm concerned, bringing Zola in for Dyche would be a very quick way to get on the wrong side of the fans.

Ok Andy let's all over achieve every season. Let's just be alright. Mid table.. Mapps would be on his way out & prob the best young player we have had since Ashley Young.. Let's just be safe every season let's not want more.. Let's settle for 10 th best in the league. Let's not have an owner with 2 billion in the bank (250 million more than arsenal owner... Let's not be oppamistic for better future.. Let's not have a manager who knows when to change. Let's stick with a manager who's had very reviews from his last league club which say he done as good as anyone could... The entertainment value of a another SD season will only lose more supporters.. Let's face it I can count on one finger the amount of exciting football at the Vic.. Leicester that's it in the league.. Let's always be settling for OK... The main point is if U are against Zola and the new (or maybe not) then vote with your feet.. Let's just stay at home and protest about SD... If the Italians come in Zola will be manager... Your in or your out simply...

Plus if someone anyone wants to clear club debts so we'll have a club for us & our children & to get this upsets one manager... Isn't that worth it... Managers come & go... Plus it's still not settled if Zola want's the job...

Managers do come and go, and we do support Watford as opposed to Sean Dyche. HOWEVER, he has done well so far and proven himself to be on a par with Zola in my eyes, as they both have one good season under their belts, and therefore deserves the chance to be judged by the new owners before being removed.
