OFFICIAL: Takeover agreed in principle

Watford's board of directors have agreed a transfer of ownership to the Pozzo family in principle.

In an official club statement it has been revealed that after discussions between Watford Football Club and the Pozzo family have resulted in a principle agreement being struck.

Who can say how this will turn out. I watched a documentary on QPR about Fabio Briatore and it was good schadenfreude stuff but a lesson in what can go wrong with "white knight" takeovers. I remember another Italian "Vialli" with a high spend high wage Vegas model. So be careful what you wish for. I think Watford's academy model will go out the window now. I hope Dyche find's a club that values the undoubted talents he has.

Watched the QPR documentary too - would love a WFC version for Bassini's reign. From what I understand, the Harefield Academy is one of the things which drew the Pozzo's to Watford as they are all about producing talent then selling it at it's peak value to re-invest in the future, much like we do now. The interest in Zola appears to be real however.
