No Ipswich enquiry for Loach

No Ipswich enquiry for Loach

Despite reports to the contrary, Ipswich Town have not made an enquiry for their former goalkeeper, Scott Loach.

Rumours have been rife that Paul Jewell has made an approach for Loach but The Watford Observer have reveald that this is not the case.

The 24 year-old 'keeper was at the Portman Road club's academy as a youngster before being released.

Loach has been linked with a return to Suffolk on a number of occasion over the past year without any substance to back the rumour up.

It will certainly be a make-or-break year for Loach who will be expecting to start the campaign as number one once again. If not, it could well be the end of Loach's Vicarage Road career.

I think it would take quite a big offer of around 2 mill plus.. SL did have a poor spell towards the end of last season but I'm hopeful he can learn from that & become a better keeper for it.. Every player goes through bad spells.. Keepers are quite different from out field players as they only have one place to fight for on the pitch & only need to make one mistake for a goal to be scored.. They need to be top of there game every match which is near impossible for any player... I think SL will turn it around & show us what kind of man he is... I hope we don't sell..

Couldn't agree more. In goalkeeping terms he is still very young. He is getting to an age where he needs to be reaching better levels of consistency but as much as anything I think the lack of serious competition for his place, save for Tom Kuszczak, has really hindered his progress.
