Vicarage Road pitch re-laying begins

After a number of delays and false dawns, the Vicarage Road pitch is finally being torn up ready to re-laid.

As promised by owner Laurence Bassini, the hallowed turf is being re-laid this summer ahead of the 2012/13 n.Power Championship campaign.

The first step is of course to remove the old playing surface before making any necessary repairs to the undersoil heating system before a new surface can be put down.
