Bassini denies takeover rumours
Owner Laurence Bassini has spoken out to deny rumours that the club are set for takeover or even investment after much speculation to the contrary.
here had been much talk in recent weeks of an investment from two Italian businessmen, whilst further unfounded speculation was afoot that Bassini was set to sell the club having run out of money.
owever, the owner has spoken out to deny that there is any truth in either rumour. Speaking to The Watford Observer, Bassini said:
There is no truth in me trying to get investment." Said Bassini.
Somebody asked me if I wanted to sell the naming rights for the stadium but I told them I am not interested.
There is nothing in it at all. I am not seeking investment. What for? I do not understand where all these rumours come from.
I hear every day that those sort of things are going on but those people making up rumours on forums are keyboard warriors."
