Watford make Deeney statement
Watford have broken their silence on Troy Deeney following the news that the forward is due in Magistrates Court next week for a first hearing following charges of affray and assaulting a police officer.
The 23 year-old striker will appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on April 26 to hear the charges after being bailed on February 29.
A club statement on The Official Site read as follows:
'WATFORD FOOTBALL CLUB wishes to make it clear that it has been kept updated at all times by Troy Deeney in relation to charges being brought against the forward for an alleged incident.
The matter is not within the hands of the Hornets, so therefore it is inappropriate for the club to make any further comment of any kind at this time.'
