Dyche: 'Blackpool were the better side'

Sean Dyche has made a point of being honest and yesterday was no different as the gaffer saw his side outplayed by Ian Holloway's Blackpool side.

As ever the Hornet's supremo side-stepped the blame game despite a poor display from referee James Linington.

Stephen Dobbie put the Tangerines ahead following a mazy run after 25 minutes and doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the second period.

Speaking after to the Official Site, Dyche said:

'Blackpool were the better side and worthy winners, no question.'

The boss continued:

'We've not performed as poorly as that too often in recent months - and, for me, that's a sign that we really are growing as a group.

'I've not got into talking about referees all season because it just sounds like you're making excuses.'

Opposing manager Holloway was full of praise for Dyche and highlighted the excellent job done by the former Watford centre-back in his first managerial post.

Speaking to the Watford Observer, Holloway said:

"I think Sean has done an absolutely magnificent job here. The last manager wanted to leave and has joined Cardiff City and how well has Sean done? A rookie in his first job. I think he has done quite stupendous, so well done to him."

Watford head to Cardiff on Bank Holiday Monday.
