OFFICIAL: Massey makes Colchester return

Home grown striker Gavin Massey has today returned to Colchester United on a one-month youth loan.

The nippy forward was re-called from a loan spell with the U's halfway through February, making a 45 minute substitute appearance at Crystal Palace.

However, since then the Watford-born striker has been out of the first-team picture due to injury and with Britt Assombalonga re-called from his loan spell at Braintree, Massey has left on-loan again.

Bad weather caused havoc to the Essex sides fixtures during Massey's original loan spell so the nippy forward will be looking forward to getting some more game time under his belt.

Massey is on loan until April 14 and has a 24 hour re-call clause in his loan contract.

Good luck Gavin!

GM needs minutes on the pitch.... It will only make him a better player......

Indeed, Dyche said in the original quotes that player develop at different speeds and clearly Massey is at a point where he would still very much benefit from game time at a lower level. For Britt, it looks like he's ready to start being involved in the first-team squad here, which is excellent news.
