'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dyche: 'I told them to relax and play'

Sean Dyche was rightly proud of his players yesterday after they displayed superb will and determination to come back from 2-0 down to beat Burnley.

Jay Rodriguez put the visitors in front before a Nyron Nosworthy own-goal doubled the lead for Eddie Howe's side five minutes after the break.

Following some tinkering from Sean Dyche and the introduction of Alex Kacaniklic, Watford got back in the game through Nosworthy four minutes later.

Kacaniklic then levelled with 18 minutes to spare before Troy Deeney bagged a winner from close-range to send the Hornet's faithful into pandemonium.

Speaking afterwords, Dyche revealed that he had belied his hard-man image during the half-time break, telling the players to 'relax and play'.

'The main thing I did was suggested to the players they should relax. Relax and play, because we looked like a side trying not to lose in the first half - rather than trying to win the game.' Dyche told the Official Site

The gaffer continued: 'I asked the players to get emotionally attached to the game for the second half, because I felt they weren't early on. The way we started the second half got the fans involved, and I thought their support was outstanding for us then.'

Watford now face the daunting prospect of a trip to second-placed West Ham United on Wednesday evening.
