'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dyche: 'We'll get through it together'

Sean Dyche was as honest as ever yesterday after his side went down 3-0 at home to Southampton.

The Saints re-claimed top spot thanks to a Rickie Lambert hat-trick, the opener an opportunist strike after an error by Tomasz Kuszczak.

Lambert added a second nine minutes later, completing his treble 18 minutes from time from the penalty spot.

Hornets boss Sean Dyche admitted the first goal 'flattened the atmosphere' but said his side won and lost together.

Speaking to The Official Site, Dyche said:

'I thought we'd be fairly bright to start with and I sensed a general positivity - but yes, the manner of the first goal took some of that away.'

Dyche continued:

'We will get through it together. We had a little rough spell a bit earlier this season and we came out the other side - so there's no reason not to believe in ourselves and keep working towards developing and improving.

'I've said after victories that we're a squad that's learning all the time, so I think it's fair for me to stress that again; we are not the finished product and there's always things we can look to improve.'

The Goldenboys will get the chance to rectify their form next Saturday with a visit from Eddie Howe's Burnley.
