Watford completed the long-awaited loan deal of Santa Maria Capua Vetere-born forward Marcello Trotta on February 23 2012.

The 19 year-old forward had been expected to pen a loan deal with the Hornets after impressing at local outfit, Wycombe Wanderers.

Trotta started his football career with Italian Serie 'A' side Napoli in 2004, spending four years in the Neapolitan youth setup.

After four years in his homeland, the forward moved to England with Manchester City. Trotta spent just a year with the North West giants before moving to Fulham.

It was at Fulham where Trotta got his first taste of first-team action when he was loaned out to League One side, Wycombe Wanderers.

Under the guidance of Gary Waddock, Trotta bagged an impressive eight goals in eight games including a hat-trick against Exeter City in a 3-1 win.

Waddock tried to extend the Italian's loan deal but Fulham declined to agree the deal in the hope that the forward would be able to move up the Football League ladder.

Trotta was expected to move on-loan to Watford when the Loan Window re-opened but the move did not come through.

Having made his Fulham debut as a substitute in the F.A Cup defeat by Everton on January 27.

Eventually Trotta penned a one-month youth loan at Vicarage Road which allows the Hornets to extend his deal all the way through until the end of the campaign should they so wish.
