Sordell agent denies Bassini claims

Sordell agent denies Bassini claims

The agent of new Bolton Wanderers striker Marvin Sordell has hit back at Watford owner Laurence Bassini, who claimed that 'third party' influences were responsible for the striker's move.

Bassini released a statement on Wednesday which made it clear that the Hornet's owner blamed Sordell's agent - Sky Andrew, for forcing the move through.

Today though, Andrew has hit back and said the following to theWatford Observer:

"No, I didn`t say he would run the contract down.

"Marvin was given a contract offer and was given a time frame to consider it (until February 1) and we wrote to the club saying he would consider it. And before that time was up, the club decided to sell him."

Andrew was also full of praise for the Hornet's football management:

"Ross Wilson and Sean Dyche were top notch. Marvin was sad to leave and he appreciated that Sean Dyche was the one who helped nurture him all the way from the youth team."

The Watford Observer also reveal that the names of Sordell and Adrian Mariappa were circulated to other clubs last week and that this prompted a bid from Cardiff for Sordell.

If that understanding is correct then serious doubts must surely be raised of the legitimacy of claims that Watford 'did not need' to sell anyone during the January Transfer Window. Otherwise, why would a middling club offer their two top players to other sides?

The only thing that is certain from this latest set of revelations is that there is more to this than meets the eye. Expect this one to run and run folks...

I apologise.. You are quite right with your FACT, but I think if you read the article again, you will see it's not really about the fact that Sordell has moved on. You are right though, 3 points tomorrow would do nicely
