Hughes rules out Smith departure

Queens Park Ranger boss Mark Hughes has ruled out any chances of Tommy Smith leaving on loan by announcing that he will make his 25 man Premier League squad.

Premier League regulations permit managers to select a squad of up to 25 after each Transfer Window and Hughes has confirmed that Smith will make the cut.

The two-time Goldenboy had been linked with a sensational third-stint at the Vic' by this morning's tabloids but now Sean Dyche will have to turn his attentions elsehwere.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Hughes said:

'They`ll [Smith & Jamie Mackie] be in the 25 and there`s no sense at all in them going out. It won`t happen.'

Case shut then!!! Though after signing about 120 players on transfer deadline day - including 75 strikers - are we absolutely convinced that Hughes actually knows what 25 looks like?

I'm amazed they have been able to keep everyone, but surely there will be unhappy players further down the line. I can't see Smith staying beyond this summer...

With the contract TS is on and with little prospect of another Premiership club taking him, I'm pretty sure he will run it out, he always said his move was finical reasons.
