Whichelow  loan to Wycombe & Roundup

With all the transfer speculation around Watford today, one piece of news definatly confirmed is that Matt Whichelow has joined League One Wycombe on a one month loan.

The pacey winger, who has been out of favour this season, has been sent out on loan in order to gain some vital match experience. Whichelow made just his second appearance of the season in Friday's FA Cup defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

On other fronts, we understand that Newcastle's 'take it or leave it offer' for Adrian Mariappa was more around the £2mil mark than the £3.25mil reported earlier.

Also, we understand that the offer accepted for Mariappa from Wigan is higher than the £2.5mil figure being banded around, and also that despite the offer being accepted that move is far from a done deal.

In other news, Benik Afobe will not be joining the Hornets on loan. Although Watford made an approach to take the Arsenal teenger on loan he will be staying at Arsenal to continue rehabilitation from a recent injury.

What a shame - was hoping to see Matty Whichelow feature in the first team at WFC. He seems to score bucketfuls of goals, which is more than can be said for Mr Iwelumo and Mr Garner - try him at centre forward alongside the knockdowns from Troy

Hopefully this move will be more productive for him that the Exeter loan deal.
