Hogg 'touch and go' for Birmingham trip

Midfield lynchpin Jonathan Hogg is rated as 'touch and go' ahead of Watford's trip to Birmingham this weekend.

The former Aston Villa midfielder has not trained with the squad this week so a start looks unlikely.

However, Sean Dyche refused to rule out a place in his 16 for Hogg.

Speaking to The Watford Observer, Dyche said:

"We will have to monitor him wisely. It [his injury] has settled down and he has been with the physios for a few days now. It is touch and go. We have no other injuries, just the usual bumps and bruises."

Long-term absentees Martin Taylor (toe) and Stephen McGinn (knee) are both sidelined still.

Don't rush him back too soon SD. If it means letting him miss Saturday match I'd rather get Hogg back fully fit....

Indeed. Doesn't sound like he's fit on the basis he hasn't trained, so give Ross Jenkins a shot.
