Reports of double bid wide of the mark
Reports that Watford have seen a bid for Portsmouth pair Joel Ward and Jason Pearce turned down are wide of the mark, according to the Watford Observer.
The defensive duo were believed to have been subject a joint-bid from Watford but the Watford Observer has said otherwise.
Ward, 22, is an extremely versatile midfielder-cum-defender who made his breakthrough when the South coast outfit were relegated to the Championship. Since then the 5'9' utility has made 51 league starts and 17 substitute appearances for Pompey.
Club captain Jason Pearce only returned to Fratton Park from Bournemouth in the summer after leaving the club in 2007 to join the Cherries. Pearce has since become a regular back at Portsmouth making 23 league starts this season.
Silly season eh? It's hard to now who to believe.
