Dyche on Sordell interest
Sean Dyche has issued words of re-assurance to Watford supporters over the potential loss of forward Marvin Sordell.
As The Watford Observer revealed earlier in the day, there has been 'significant interest' in Sordell, 20, however Dyche says that the club do not need to sell on the cheap.
Speaking to the Watford Observer, the gaffer said that the club were in a better position than in recent years and were in a stronger position as the seller:
'All we know is that we are in a better and stable position than we were because the finances have been organised accordingly.
"It doesn`t mean we can stave off every offer but we can stave off offers where we do not consider it to be enough.'
"I think you could say that about any young player in the Championship, or any division. Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield striker) is another one. At the beginning of the season, arguably, you might have got him for £1m but not now. Marvin is another one.'
West Ham are rumoured to have offered £2m for Sordell, which even against the £4m offered for Huddersfield hitman Rhodes seems a bit cheap.
Here's hoping Laurence Bassini and the board hold their nerve on this one.
