Dyche: 'We were off our best'

Hornet's boss Sean Dyche pulled no punches in the assessment of his team yesterday after his charges went down 2-0 at Portsmouth.

Goals from Marko Futacs and Hayden Mullins either side of Scott Loach's sending off did for the 'Orns on a day they created little.

Speaking to The Official Site afterwords, Dyche said:

'I thought we were off our best today; off of our normal performance levels.'

The gaffer continued:

'There was certainly no lack of effort or organisation, but there were several individual displays that weren't quite to the level we've come to expect from the group.'

Speaking about the controversial red, Dyche contended:

'Let's just say that it was an interesting decision, and I'm sure that anyone who has the chance to review the incident will see why I might be bemused at how the referee arrived at the decision he did.'

Watford host Bradford City in the F.A Cup this Saturday.
