Dyche: 'We got our reward'
Watford boss Sean Dyche praised his side's performance in their victory over Doncaster, acknowledging that it wasn't their finest performance all the same.
The 'Orns battled away for the first 45 minutes without looking too dangerous before Marvin Sordell struck just before the break.
Sordell bagged a second after half-time before John Eustace and Michel Kightly put the result beyond doubt following Billy Sharp's brief leveler.
Speaking to Football365, Dyche said:
'We played well in the first half without that moment of quality to really open the door.
'We never looked in particular trouble and controlled reasonable parts of it and then a soft 10 minutes at the start of the second half allowed them to get back in it.'
The boss continued:
'It was a strange kind of performance, it was a nearly performance, and then we really turned the screw with 10 men which can be hard to do because it's very awkward to play against so I was really, really pleased with the last half-an-hour.'
Watford start 2012 with a trip to Fratton Park, Portsmouth.
