Dyche: 'An individual error cost us again'

Watford boss Sean Dyche came away from Monday's draw at home to Cardiff disappointed that his side had not taken all three points.

The Hornets took a 62nd minute lead through Prince Buaben before an Aidy Mariappa own-goal earnt Cardiff a share of the spoils.

Speaking to The Official Site, Dyche bemoaned the error by Scott Loach which saw Mariappa bag a second own-goal of the season:

'An individual error has cost us again - that's the reality of it.'

However, the gaffer praised his side's performance, in particular, in the second-half where the Goldenboys were on top:

'Even though Cardiff had most of that first spell of the game, I felt we actually had the better chances with their keeper being extended on more than one occasion.

'We created plenty; before Prince (Buaben) scored and afterwards, too.'

Watford entertain Doncaster Rovers at the Vic' on New Years Eve next.
