Buaben apologises for referee outburst

Buaben apologises for referee outburst

Prince Buaben has quickly apologized for his Twitter outburst following Saturday's draw at home to Leeds United.

Lamenting referee Eddie Ilderton's decision to hand Leeds a 95th minute penalty on Twitter, the Ghanain said:

@pbuaben 'Absolutely p***ed off. F***ing robbed us. OMG [Oh my God] nearly hit this f***er.'

The former Dundee United midfielder quickly deleted the offending Tweet and issued an apology:

@pbuaben 'I apologise for my language earlier on, just very upset.'

The Guardian were quick to pick up on Buaben's misdemeanour, whilst also raising the point that Premier League footballers have been fined sizeable amounts of money for questioning the integrity or abusing officials in the past.

Whether or not Buaben will face Football League sanction remains to be seen.

But you said he'd been fined for telling the truth 1881 ... lets be honest about this, the truth is that Nosworthy kicked Mika Vayrynen in the face inside the box and the ref got it right - if THAT had been his tweet and he got into bother then your commen "Fined for being honest is s * * t.." would have made sense - what he should have said is "we got 11 men behind the ball, kept kicking the ball out of play and wasting time with 20 mins still to play and 4th official quite rightly added 5 mins on. Leeds kept going, our player kicked one their players, they got a penalty and we lost 2 points ... its our own fault"

It does make a joke of the whole saga, when players from the premiership have been fined and suspended for tweets,. As it has been pointed out, we only have ourselves to blame for not getting all 3 points.

Firstly Simon, we never had 11 men behind the ball i can say as a FACT that Sordell played that whole time in your half so that could not have been the case. Secondly we sat back to close the game out which was working as you didn't look like scoring a month of sundays. Strange considering all the wonderful players your supporters say play for a top championship club that is the best thing since sliced bread. You were absolutley ridiculously bad in the game. And there was no particular time wasting from us as the 4th official only added 3 minutes of added time at the end of the game. At least get the facts rights!

Definitely a penalty. Nosworthy's boot was in Vayrynen's face!

Maybe your right.. All I'm saying is it's sad players can't say what they feel (if lawful) In turn supporters can say anything they want....

If im honest (and due to my earlier comments I should be) you are bang on right that we never looked like scoring and no-one was more surprised than I was that we did ... also I think the MANAGERS of clubs should be able to make statements on the refs performance and refs should in turn have to reply (publicly) to those comments and be accountable for the decisions they make instead of just saying "pah" - if you note my disagreement was always about the "truth" bit as his comment was just sour grapes
