OFFICIAL: Hoban extends contract

Young centre-back Tommie Hoban has this evening extended his existing Hornet's contract until the summer of 2014.

Hoban, 17, only penned his first professional deal in May of this year in order to help the Hornets protect one of their bright young talents.

However, Hoban is now tied down for a further two years once he completes his scholarship with the club.

The Republic of Ireland youth international made his debut for the club on the last day of last season against Preston North End.

This deal is indicative of the Hornet's ongoing commitment to securing the future of their young players whilst allowing them to fully complete their scholarship with the club.

To all intents and purpose, Hoban is still only a scholar, the professional status of his contract is there to give him security and the club protection from Premier League vultures who are known to be circling.

Excellent news for all involved and congratulations to Tommie!
