'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dyche: 'Disappointing not to win'

Sean Dyche was understandably annoyed after his side dropped two points at home to Bristol City last night.

The gaffer praised a number of positives as the Hornets had roared into a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Carl Dickinson and Craig Beattie.

However, the 'Orns good work was undone as a below-par Bristol City grabbed a soft goal just before half time, teeing up a tense finish before the calamitous equaliser.

Speaking to The Official Site Dyche acknowledged his side's deficiencies:

'Their first goal will go down as a preventable one from our point of view. And the second one speaks for itself.'

Dyche was full of praise for the way Watford searched for a third having seen the Robins equalise:

'It's the way we gathered ourselves after that set-back, especially coming when it did, a real strength of character if you like that pleased me most tonight.

'What I saw after their second goal was a side re-focus, gather itself back together, and go on to have the majority of the pressure and the chances.'

Watford now travel to face Ipswich Town on Saturday. The Tractor Boys have hit the skids in recent weeks and capitulated 4-0 at Burnley on Tuesday evening.
