OFFICIAL: Beattie joins on loan

Sean Dyche has stayed true to his word and captured a striker on loan this afternoon in Swansea's Craig Beattie.

The 27 year-old Scotland cap arrives on loan at Vicarage Road on-loan until January 8.

Beattie has fallen out of favour at the Liberty Stadium having arrived from West Bromwich Albion in 2009.

Formerly of Celtic, Beattie moved to England in 2007 to link up with Tony Mowbray and the Baggies. His time at the Hawthorn's was disappointing as he made just 31 appearances scoring four goals.

Whilst with Albion, Beattie was loaned to Preston North End, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace.

Glasgow-born Beattie has scored seven goals in 45 appearances for Brendan Rodgers' side but has played second-fiddle to the likes of Danny Graham and Leroy Lita this season.

Beattie will wear the number 37 jersey.

Welcome to Watford Craig.

I think he is a quality player, but didn't think he was a striker, more attacking midfielder. Never the less injury prone. It will be interesting to see who he replaces, one more due in this week?

Yes, one more due in. I'm really not sure about him. Twenty seven years-old and just 63 career starts - 90+ from the bench, says a lot. I hope he comes good but I have to say I would stick with Iwelumo and Deeney who both seem to have hit some sort of form. Feel for Joe Garner as well - could find himself failing to make the match squad after just a few starts. Would have preferred a solid line-leading defender and a creative midfielder/winger.

Play well & you will get in the team.. No one has played well enough to get a auto start on Saturday... So who knows...
