Gilmartin available for loan

Goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin has been made available for loan by Watford in order to build his match sharpness.

The Irish 'keeper recently came into the side to make his Hornet's league debut in the 2-1 win over Millwall.

However, the former Walsall man only lasted two games before Scott Loach re-claimed his spot against Crystal Palace.

Speaking to The Watford Observer, Sean Dyche said he would be looking to move Gilmartin out on-loan:

"We have had a chat about that and we were hoping to get him out on loan before he went in for Scott and we are still hoping to get him out on loan because he needs games.

"I thought if anything, he looked like he was feeling his way in and we have not got our time for that at the moment, we need to deliver straight away.'

It could be a case of one in, one out for the Hornet's as Dyche has also confirmed to The Watford Observer that he was looking to add another forward player.

"The calls are ongoing and it is not just strikers, we are looking at other areas of the pitch because I am well aware, and the players are well aware, that we have not won as many games as we would like.'

He's no worse then loach... SL has had a few bad matches this season.. Maybe he is on the way out in Jan...

Maybe we could do with another winger with some pace now Kightly has picked up another injury. And a CB to cover Taylor?

I'm happy with where we are for CB's to be honest. We've got three still and Doyley can play there and Hodson and Thompson can cover him. We could do with a winger but I'd still prefer to see Whichelow. Re. 'keepers, Gilmartin is not up to much and doesn't push Loach hard enough for his place which doesn't help. If Gilmartin doesn't then Bond won't.

Have we still got Bennet? I don't rate Mirfin. I don't think the squad of players is that bad and who ever we bring in, if we don't play with any tactics, we could play Rooney and still look poor.

Yeah we have Bennett. I don't rate him to be honest, he's back up at best as his mental attributes - reading of the game etc, let him down hugely. Very true about a lack of tactics though.
