Watford trio help Ireland qualify

Three home-grown Hornet's helped the Republic of Ireland's U19's qualify for next year's 'elite qualification stages'.

Scholars Tommie Hoban and Connor Smith as well as first-year pro' Sean Murray all featured as the Republic's U19 group made the elite qualification stage of the U19 European Championships.

Ireland played three games last week with Smith scoring as the Irish beat Russia 4-1 on Thursday.

Both Murray and Smith started in the 2-0 defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday whilst Murray and Hoban played the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 win over Russia yesterday.

In other international football, Marvin Sordell played played 80 minutes for England's U21's against Norway in European Championship's 2013 qualification as England won 2-1.

Finally Lee Hodson won two more caps for Northern Ireland as Nigel Worthington's side crashed to defeat against Italy and Estonia.

Congratulations to all our internationals.
