AC Horsens 0 Hornets 4

Four-star Watford four maintained their 100% pre-season record after sweeping aside Danish Premier League outfit AC Horsens on Monday night.

The Hornets, who conceded early goals in their first three opening friendly fixtures, took the lead on six minutes when Marlon King converted James Chambers` cross from the right.

The Championship`s leading goalscorer from last season is at his most dangerous with his back to goal, and doubled the visitors` lead on 33 minutes when turning a Danish defender to hammer the ball home.

Ashley Young - who was having a quiet game by his usual high standards - sent Watford three-up just before the interval when he cut inside from the left, beat two players and knocked the ball past 'keeper Hmera.

Horsens, who included four players in their starting line-up from the team that drew 2-2 in a Danish Super League match the day before, made five changes at the break.

Boothroyd replaced James chambers with Hameur Bouazza on 65 minutes.

Richard Lee was on hand to make a double save with 22 minutes left on the clock, the former Academy 'keeper Tchami`s near-post effort then rose quickly to knock away the rebound.

Hungarian Tamas Priskin replaced Henderson on 76 minutes and soon made an impact when completing the victory with seven minutes left on the clock. The 19-year-old trialist headed home a cross from Jordan Stewart - who was arguably Watford`s man-of-the-match - to complete the victory.

Watford: Lee, Doyley, Stewart, Chambers (Bouazza 65), Mariappa, DeMerit, Francis, Mahon, King (McNamee 86), Henderson (Priskin 76), Young (Spring 86). Subs not used: Loach (GK), Mackay, Blizzard

AC Horsens: Hmera (Borg 45), Christensen (Marvits 45), Ba, Rieper (Algreen 45), Heinze, Klausen (Friis 68), Borg, Ernemann, Avci, Lawan (Tchami 45), Sule (Johansen 45)
