Kightly stay set to be brief

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has hinted that winger Michael Kightly's stay at Vicarage Road will probably just be for the initial month's agreement.

The 25 year-old joined the Hornet's on loan yesterday for a month in order to build his match fitness having started two of Wolves' Premier League games this term.

Speaking to The Watford Observer, McCarthy said:

"Having spoken to him [Kightly] he feels he needs to play maybe five or six games on the bounce, which is something he hasn`t been able to do in the last two years.

"We had a discussion and agreed that he should try and go out on loan where there`s a better chance of playing those games and helping him get towards the levels needed for the pace of the Premier League.'

Kightly is set to make his debut against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

1 month? Does that really help us or does it hinder us? It's gotta cause some I'll feeling to the player who is dropped and if he performs well and we start moving up the league, will it not have an effect on players and fans when he goes? I still recall the massive loss of Adam Johnson, we would have gone back up that season if he had stayed.

I have to agree with you there Andy. We missed AJ like nobodies business and if Kightly hits the ground running it could be the same effect. You have to look at the positives though & hopefully he will force Forsyth & Yeates to up their game's.
