Hornets capture Kightly on loan

Watford have this afternoon captured Wolves winger, Michael Kightly on a month's loan.

The former Grays Athletic and Southend United attacker has been out of action for the last 18 months thanks to injury but made Wolves' 25-man squad this season.

Former England U21 international Kightly helped the Midlands outfit to promotion in 2008/2009 before his season was ruined by injury.

Following a brief 10-game comeback Kightly was sidelined until April 2011 following serious ankle and patella tendon problems.

Kighly had previously featured prominently for non-league Grays Athletic who took him from Southend United on a free transfer.

Twenty-five goals in 61 appearances for the Essex side prompted McCarthy to bring him to Molinuex on loan before making the move permanent for just £20k.

Kightly, 25 has made five appearances for Mick McCarthy's side this season but will look to build up his match fitness on loan at Vicarage Road.

The former Tottenham trainee will wear the number 18 jersey.

Welcome Michael!
