'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Hoban bids received

Watford have this afternoon denied reports linking Tommie Hoban with a Premier League outfit.

The Hornet's youngster, who made his first-team debut at the end of last season had been linked with a move to a top Premier League outfit.

However, the club have moved to distance themselves from the speculation by stating categorically that there have been no offers.

Head of football business, Ross Wilson told the Watford Observer that there have been no approaches:

"There have been no approaches from any club for the player."

Meanwhile, Watford are being linked with former Rapid Vienna defender Andreas Dober.

The 25 year-old full-back has been linked with Watford as well as Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town.

Dober's agent, Sascha Empacher told Sky Sports News a deal was likely in the near future:

'There are not many players around with his quality on a free, he is an international with Champions League experience.

'We are hoping something will be decided this week, we cannot say who we are talking with as that is confidential but they are in England and Scotland.'

He sounds almost too decent to be true!

Experience and quality, normally comes at a cost, don't know much about him but if the story true, I look forward to seeing him in a watford shirt, is he left or right footed?

I've no idea I must say. He can play at left-back too so I'm going to make an educated guess at left. Bodes well for the future if A) These kindof clubs want our players and B) We manage to fend off any interest!

I'd be happy to have him at Watford, but would he come???
watford1881
Do we need him at Watford. I think our defence is our strongest area of the team at the moment. Depending on how much this bloke would cost in wages i would not like to see him come in instead of a winger or another striker on loan that would add potency to our attack
chriswfc
Well if he can cover Dickinson so the whole defence doesn't get pulled out of shape then yes. That said we could easily have slung Hodson in last Saturday...

I don't know why they didn't give the lad they signed from non league ago

Presumably not up to it?
