OFFICIAL: WEIMANN SIGNS ON LOAN

Watford have today announced the signing of Andi Weimann on loan until early January from parent club Aston Villa.

Weimann is well known to Hornets fans having served on loan during the second half of last season and will be remembered fondly by supporters for his work rate and attitude as well as scoring 4 goals in 10 starts.

Weimann, an Austrian U21 International, returned to Villa in the summer and played in Tuesday's 2-0 Carling Cup victory over Hereford.

However with Premier League football looking unlikely Villa boss Alex McLeish has allowed Weimann a loan move to get some regular first team football.

And first team football is surely what he will get with Watford in desperate need of bolstering their strike force after scoring just 3 goals in their opening 5 matches of the season.

Weimann will wear the number 18 shirt and has signed in time to play against his parent clubs bitter rivals Birmingham at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

Highly-rated by Villa fan and did well with four from 10 starts with us last season. Hard-worker, and that always curry's favor with fans. Here's to some more goals from the Weeman!

Agreed, we need a quality midfielder to supply him, but happy with this signing, at least he puts the effort in
