Thompson joins Brentford on loan

Young full-back Adam Thompson has moved to join Brentford on-loan for a month in order to secure first-team football.

The 18 year-old Northern Ireland international only broke into the first-team last season but has since fallen foul of the new five subs rule.

Thompson went on to make 11 appearances for the Hornet's first-team last season, scoring his first professional goal against Preston North End.

Uwe Rosler's Bees currently sit fourth in the League One table after an impressive start. Thompson will link up with former 'Orns Richard Lee and Toumani Diagouraga at Griffin Park.

Good luck Adam!

Really? I think in a few years he will have moved on/retired Lloyd Doyley. Potential most certainly there.

Hopefully he will the first of several to go out on loan to benefit their development - Murray, Smith, Assambalonga, Aldred to name a few, would all benefit from regular first-team league football. Fingers crossed for them all.
