Watford Agree Fee For Yeates

Watford have agreed a fee with Sheffield Utd for winger Mark Yeates according to the Watford Observer.

Although the fee is undisclosed it is thought to be in the reigon of £200,000 - £300,000.

Right or left winger Yeates, 26, found first team football hard to come by last season under managers Gary Speed and Mickey Adams. But his opportunity appears to have come with new boss Danny Wilson looking to raise transfer funds. He is expected to be making the journey down to look around the training ground today despite the first team being away at a training camp in France.

Yeates started his career at Tottenham but only made 1 sub appearance as a youngster. He had various loan spells, most impressively at Colchester in the 07/08 season where he scored 13 goals from midfield at Championship level. Colchester signed him at the end of the season and he played impressively again at League One level scoring 7 goals.

Middlesbrough signed him the following season for £500,000 but he was sold on to Sheffield Utd just six months into his time there after the arrival of new boss Gordon Strachan. He was a regular in Sheffield under Kevin Blackwell before falling out with the subsquent managers.
