Forsyth deal set to go through

Watford are set to sign Dundee winger-cum-full-back Craig Forsyth after the clubs agreed a compensation package.

The Hornet's should complete their first summer signing with Forsyth travelling down to undergo a medical at the club tomorrow.

A potential move to fellow suitors Crystal Palace broke down yesterday when the south Londoners failed to meet the Dee's 100k asking price by way of compensation.

The 22 year-old is predominately a winger but can play at left full-back too. Forsyth has made 48 league starts for the Scottish outfit scoring 10 goals.

Dundee CEO Harry MacLean praised the Hornets for the way they went about striking the deal when speaking to The Watford Observer

'Watford have been excellent to deal with and we have accepted their transfer package for Craig.

'They have agreed terms with him and that means he will travel to Watford for a medical early this week.'

Forsyth's move south of the border is the first piece of business overseen by new head of football business, Ross Wilson who was recently poached from SPL side St Mirren to replace John Stephenson.

And finally, Vital Watford broke the news last week, a reminder as if you needed it that Vital Watford is the place to get your Hornet's news first and fastest this summer!

Hopefully this does go through. Seems like a good replacement for Buckley IMO meaning Cowie can play more in the middle, his best position,. And a left footer the first one in our first team now and can fill in at left back. Some god news!

Business as usuall, makes you wonder what the role of a manager is now days, it looks apparent that who ever comes in, will not have much say on who we sign. Is that a good thing?

It's the way of the world I think these days, sadly. At most the manager says who they want and the money men at the club do the negotiating on fees with others boards, agents and the player. Very sad. Good that we are getting someone in but seems pointless unless they've got someone lined up. Odd.
