What does the future hold for - Eddie Oshodi?

What does the future hold for - Eddie Oshodi?

With the season winding down, it`s the time of year players, managers and chief executives sit down and decide on the futures of the playing staff. With that in mind, and coupled with the Hornet`s tight financial belt ,VitalWatford will be taking a look at those who are out of contract, on loan or out of favour at the Vic` ahead of the Summer.

Today it`s the turn of Eddie Oshodi...

At 19, left-back-cum-centre-back Eddie Oshodi is a touch younger than Rob Kiernan or Liam Henderson but he`s made a similar impact to Kiernan with just one sub appearance to his name for the club.

Currently on-loan at Rushden and Diamonds, Oshodi has been quite unlucky this season having been loaned to League One strugglers Dagenham and Redbridge earlier in the season. Unfortunately he didn`t get any playing time thanks to the harsh winter we suffered and has since been packed off to Rushden on loan where has been featuring which can only be good for the young man`s development.

With his contract up in the summer, Oshodi, like Kiernan could easily be handed another year`s contract but at the same time, if his wages prevent the extension of a first-team player`s contract then he`ll be on his way equally quickly. It`s fair to say Oshodi is highly rated inside the club so right now, I`d say his chances of getting a new deal are looking good.
