Bennett signs two-year deal

Hornet's centre-back Dale Bennett has today signed a new two-year contract which will keep him at Vicarage Road until the summer of 2013.

The powerful defender was originally out of contract this summer having made 12 appearances for the 'Orns over the course of the campaign.

Bennett has been an important part of the squad this season as the most senior defensive backup to Adrian Mariappa and Martin Taylor with a place in the matchday squad his own.

Speaking to The Official Site Bennett was evidently pleased:

'I've been here since I was 14 and the professional contracts I've had so far have been for a year, so to know that I'll here for a further two years after this summer is very pleasing.

'I know that what I've done since I've been here has been noted and to be rewarded with a new contract is a boost.

'I now have to push on and work hard during pre-season - there is a time of rest over the summer but I'll be in the gym and I'll still be doing my running because I know I have to come back fitter and stronger.'

Congratulations Dale!
