Former 'Orn Forrester set for Tykes switch

Former Goldeboy Harry Forrester is poised to join Championship struggler's Barnsley ahead of the 2011/12 campaign having failed to make the grade at Aston Villa.

Forrester, 20, will move to join the Yorkshire outfit over the summer having agreed a deal with his contract set to expire this summer.

He joined Villa following a tribunal in 2007 having spent two years in the Goldeboys academy set-up. The fee was set at an initial £250,000 which could have risen to £1m if he met certain stipulations.

An attacking midfielder, Forrester never made an appearance for Villa and spent a short spell on loan at SPL side Kilmarnock last season - making his full professional debut.

We at VitalWatford can't help thinking you'd have been better staying put Harry!

That is a shock....thought he had all the attributes to go a long way, but hey, Barnsley is not the end of the world, but having been there, i'd say it's pretty close though.

I have to be honest in saying I've never seen him play, but a club like Villa doesn't agree to potentially shell out a seven-figure sum for nothing. Barnsley could be a great move for him, so long as he gets regular football.
