Hornets to host Italian outfit

Italian Champions league qualifiers Chievo will travel to Vicarage Road to face Watford in a pre-season friendly on Sunday 13 August.

The Verona-based side, who qualified for the UEFA Champions League after AC Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina were barred from taking part in Europe`s premier club competition in the fall out from the match-fixing scandal that has scared Italian football, join Inter Milan as the second Italian Champions League representatives to provide pre-season opposition for Adrian Boothroyd`s Premiership newcomers.

Internazionale, who boast two Italian world cup winners in their side in the form of defender Fabio Grosso and controversial midfielder Marco Matterazzi as well as other big names including Portugal playmaker Luis Figo and Brazil attacker Adrianio, play the Hornets on Tuesday 8 August, kick-off 19.45.
