Watford Supporters Trust voice takeover concerns

The Watford Supporters Trust yesterday issued a damning statement voicing their concerns about a potential takeover by Laurence Bassnini.

The statement, which can be viewed here says that although the trust are 'neither for or against' the takeover, they do have 'concerns about the business background' of Laurence Bassini.

The trust also questions Bassini's financial clout, asking whether the funds are 'readily available or being borrowed, and if so, from what source'.

From the little information we can garner about Mr Bassini, his business background appears checkered. He was declared bankrupt in 2007 and has a string of business' that have failed behind him.

For my money at least, the fact that Graham Taylor and Julian Winter have entertained his advances so far is the only thing going for Mr Bassini.
