Hornets target Bournemouth's Wiggins

Malky Mackay's search for a left-back looks to be getting somewhere as Bournemouth left-back Rhoys Wiggins has handed a transfer request after the Cherries rejected two Watford bids.

The young left-back started his career at Crystal Palace before moving to Norwich. He didn't spend long in East Anglia though before moving on loan to Dean Court.

Speaking to the Bournemouth Echo, the Wales Youth cap said: 'I just think it is a good opportunity and I have got to do what is best for myself.'

Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell revealed that Watford's offer was 'miles away' from Bournemouth's own valuation.

The loan window closes at 5pm today so any offer needs to be made soon if Watford are to add Wiggins or anyone else to the squad.

Nothing. Disappointed; will have to hope for a clean run of health between now and May.
