Ipswich-Watford: Reaction

Ipswich manager Paul Jewell said to the Ipswich Official Site that his side 'never looked like scoring` after they were soundly beaten 3-0 at Portman Road by the Goldenboys.

The former Wigan boss also lamented the sloppy nature of the goals his side gave away:

"I think at the end of the day we gave goals away for fun, silly goals. In between the boxes, I think we probably had more possession than them, but did you think we were really going to score a goal?

"How many crosses did we have flashing across the box? How many freekicks did we have? How many corners? We just haven`t got anyone who wants to get on the end of them, it`s as simple as that.

Hornet`s supremo Malky Mackay praised his star forward Danny Graham who grabbed one, perhaps two more tonight:

"I think tonight you could see why Danny is what he is - he`s a total team player. He`ll run a back four down on his own.

"He`s a threat in behind and he`s a threat when he comes short. I think he had an awful lot to do on the second goal and it was a quality finish.

'But the measure of the boy is that he`s a team player and that`s the centre forward that you want in your team - someone who`s not just a poacher but is a team player, and he`s certainly one of those."
The Scot told the Official Site

Watford now travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday for a meeting with the Teeside underachievers.

DG was great.. Deeney was very good. Maps & Taylor sound.. Cowey wonderfull. Thompson & Lloydinio brill.. Eustice midfield master.. Bucks a little off form (has been since "that foul) Jenkins got suck in very well.. Loach not much to do. Could have had a nap.. Subs were good. All in all a very good team effort..
