Hodson ankle not broken

It has been confirmed that Northern Irish cap Lee Hodson did not have his ankle broken on Saturday after a challenge with former 'Orn, Darius Henderson.

The Sheffield United bruiser was given his second yellow for the challenge which saw Hodson stretchered off.

It has however been confirmed that the young right-back only has 'severe bruising'.

'His ankle isn't broken, but is heavily bruised and he's limping about the training ground. I'm just grateful there's no long-term damage.

'At the time when he's being led off on a stretcher with oxygen and then taken to hospital - you do fear the worst' he admitted.

'We got the x-ray back and it was clear it wasn't broken, we would rather the bruising than what it could have been.'
Malky Mackay said to the Official Site.

No time frame for Hodson's recovery has been set though he will certainly miss tomorrow's clash at Ipswich.

Great news as although we are now safe we could do without any more substantial injuries!
