McGinn suffers knee ligament damage

Watford are set to be robbed of the services of midfielder Stephen McGinn for a long time after he suffered knee ligament damage at Doncaster Rovers.

According to the Observer Owl on Twitter, Malky Mackay has revealed that McGinn will be out for 'some time':

'@Observer Owl: Just spoke to Malky about Stephen McGinn and he said the whole #WatfordFC squad are gutted for him and many of them have gone to see him.

'@Observer Owl: It's bad news (...) Stephen is going to be out for some time with a knee ligament injury.'

There has been no official word from the club as yet so only time will truly tell.

Will this injury prompt a new midfield loan signing with Andros Townsend already having departed and Will Buckley only fit enough for the bench on Saturday? It would make sense with our midfield looking lighter by the week.

We at VitalToewers would like to wish Stephen a speedy recovery.

He has come on this season, now facing a long time out, you have to worry for the player, The club say they have the best uk surgeon work on him, but the clubs record when it comes to knee injurys is far from good!

Indeed, Gareth Williams being the worst example. Hopefully he will come back - not too early, but when he is good and ready. Hopefully youth and no knee history will be on his side!
