Mystery bidders identities revealed

After months of speculation about a potential takeover, the names of the men at the centre of it all have been revealed.

The Watford Observer revealed that Panos Thomas and Laurence Bassini have made a statement to the Stock Exchange outlining their interest in making an offer for Watford Leisure PLC.

"Mr Panagiotis (Panos) Thomas and Mr Laurence Bassini note the recent media speculation concerning a possible offer for Watford Leisure plc ('Watford').

'Mr Thomas and Mr Bassini confirm they are considering making an offer at or around 1 pence per ordinary share for Watford.

'There can be no certainty that an offer will be forthcoming."

Earlier in the day the Watford Observer broke a story suggesting that calls made to shareholders from American companies, offering to buy ordinary shares worth 9.5p for £20 could well be part of a scam the full article is at:

All we know is that Thomas is a 'respected' knee surgeon. Not a lot to go on. I trust that GT and the board will do their due diligence and not just sell to any crook, fraudster or idiot. Fingers crossed.

The only trouble with that statement is that out of the 2people named only one of them is actually a director/secretary of the newly formed company allegedly attempting to buy our club. Who is Bassini? Is he real or is it a sudo name?
