Mackay: 'We showed maturity'

Mackay: 'We showed maturity'

Speaking to the Watford Observer manager Malky Mackay praised his side's 'maturity' but rued two penalty decisions not given the Hornet's way at the City Ground.

"I think we were resilient and we stuck to our game-plan and played our way back into the game and had two or three good chances in the first half. I`m delighted with the maturity of the young group that they`re able to come here and do that against an experienced team like Forest, who are good team." Said Mackay.

The Scot continued by bemoaning two refereeing decisions which were in his mind 'stone-wall' penalties:

"I think if you looked at it independently you would see we had two one-on-ones with the goalkeeper and, I`ve just looked at both penalty kicks and both are stone wall penalty kicks. There is no argument. Buckley gets the last touch on the ball and he gets cleaned out twice.'

Four games without a win for the Hornets who take on Burnley next Saturday at Vicarage Road off the back of a win over high-fliers Norwich City. Spring of discontent anyone?
