Weimann heads to Watford

Watford have today confirmed the signing of Aston Villa's, Austrain U21 international forward Andrea Weimann on loan until the end of the season.

Weimann, 19, who played in last weeks Villa reserves victory over Arsenal, has recently recovered from ankle ligament damage which ruled him out for the first part of the season.

Weimann was a hit in Villa's reserve squad last season scoring 9 times in the Midlands Reserve. This earned him a place on Villa's bench earlier in the season and the youngster has substitute appearances in the Premier League and Europa League to his name.

The forward who can also play as an attacking midfielders joins the hornets until the end of the season to help bolster Malky Mackay's attacking options. He will wear the number 22 shirt for the Hornets.

Aston Villa have included a 24 hour recall clause in the loan deal.

It is not yet known how this impacts on the likelihood of Jordan Mucth returning on loan for the rest of the season.

Good player.

It doen't say anything on watfordfc.com yet. Does anyone rate this new player I've never heard of him

It's on your official site chap, great prospect. Take care of him for us and I have no doubts you'll miss him when he leaves.

If he is only a striker i'm not sure he will walk into our team with Graham & Sordell scoring 14 goals between them in our last 7 games. I'm sure like with Cleverley/Lansbury/Mutch he will take time to settle into the pace of the Championship but i'm sure he will be an excellent player for us. Hopefully our good record for taking care of an improving young players has counted for us again!

Maybe brought in as a replacement for Mutch, attacking midfielder? Fancy getting some thing at Cardiff, I'm sure they will be tired after playing extra time last night..
ANDY710
Would sooner have had a left-back...

Wfc an offer has gone in for Taylor, just waiting to seen if he gets the money he wants, have faith mate.. If he doesn't come then I'm sure the club have others lined up.

Very talented young footballer, one of our bright young talents. He'll score goals for you, no doubt about that. Definitely has a very bright Villa Park future ahead of him, the loan deal will be both be good for Andy, and for your good selves. Good Luck for the rest of the campaign.

Some believe he has more potential then Delfouneso even. So it is a good deal all round.

Villa fan in peace: you have got a top man in the Weeman. If it hadn't been for his injury at start of season I believe he would have made it through. I hope he scores many goals for you guys and you get promoted but I also hope he comes back. good luck for the rest of the season. PS do you want young back???
villa@herts
Andy - yeah pleased with the Taylor news obviously, impressed we've gotten the cash together to do business, touch wood he'll see sense in playing regular football. Villa@herts - you all seem to rate him which is encouraging, hoping he will get more of a look in then RYAN NOBLE who was on loan from Sunderland last season did, similar age, experience and so on. Re. Ashley Young - we don't want him back we want you to flog him, for the more the better!
